Matt Jones
BA (Hons) dip.arch RIBA ARB
Matt is the director of MJA and a Chartered Architect. Following his initial training as an Architectural Technician working in North Wales, he developed his career by completing his education and training as an Architect in Birmingham and Liverpool Universities, qualifying and becoming chartered in 1998.
His post-graduation experience the 1990’s involved him working in various private practices in the Midlands and North West working on various urban regeneration projects including the redevelopment of former Listed Liverpool Airport Terminus and Hanger buildings and the East Village redevelopment in Liverpool.
Matt return to his native North Wales in 2004 to form Tarmaster Jones architects, thereafter forming Matthew Jones Architects in 2012.
Matt deals with all aspects of the profession, from project inception through to monitoring projects on site. He has very innovative design ideas and likes to bring a creative eye to the process. His role in the practice is to oversee the design studio, formalise and develop clients brief and assist with all the various disciplines required to run a successful Architects Practice.
Matt is an enthusiastic designer that likes to push his ideas and test the clients brief to its maximum potential whilst working within the constraints of time and budget. His particular expertise is in bespoke residential projects including one-off houses and apartment design and more sensitive projects such as listed buildings and buildings in conservation areas.
Our primary focus is you, our client, and we endevour to deliver your project on time, on budget and to the high level you expect.
We operate a friendly, flexible approach for our clients where you can come and discuss your individual projects with our design team’s in either Deganwy or Mold who have a balanced approach and strong experience in both contemporary and traditional designs. Whether you want a full architectural design service from inception and conception through to production and completion on site, or simply ideas.
How do we work?
In order to launch your new project, you may need an initial site visit to discuss your proposals, however a simple initial phone call to one of our offices to discuss your project brief would be a great way to start.
We then discuss your needs, budget and timescales in order to establish our remit and advise you on how to move your project forward. We will then advise you on our scope of service and fees and get the project up and running.
The designs can be explained to you in detail personally either in our office or at your home. It is vital that our clients understand the design and process and this is explained in full as we progress with you through the journey. Some clients have a clear idea of what they want from the beginning however some clients need more guidance and advice to help them realise their grand design.
BIM
MJA utilise CAD technology to assist the design process and communicate schemes to clients and have implemented the latest design technology software known as BIM (Building Information Modelling). Utilising BIM on projects promotes:
improved visualisation for clients e.g. 3-d renders and walkthroughs
speedy design modifications saving time and money
promotes collaboration between the design team
