Grade 2 Listed Mill and granary conversion into residential use

The design of the granary is in keeping with the original character of the building whilst allowing a contemporary aspect to compliment the features and proportions of the building. By wrapping the dark zinc around the existing extension we allow for an opportunity to tie the materials of the granary into an architectural conversation with the proposed extension of the Mill. The tectonics between the original and proposed materials are a reference to the industrial heritage of the site, whilst retaining original features allows for a more direct reference to the functional history. The design aims to maximise the occupants experience of the undulating context, through aspects such as the fully glazed glable, or the panoramic glazing in the top bedroom suite.
